UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service)

UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is the national accreditation body of the United Kingdom, accrediting laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025), inspection bodies (ISO/IEC 17020) and personnel certification bodies (ISO/IEC 17024) such as the PCN scheme.

Why it matters outside the UK

Australian and New Zealand technicians frequently hold PCN certificates, and clients recognise them because the scheme is UKAS-accredited. Calibration certificates from UK laboratories likewise carry UKAS accreditation.

UKAS-accredited documents in AMPS

AMPS keeps personnel and equipment certificates on dedicated personnel and equipment pages, and its flag system warns one month before a certificate, calibration document or scheduled inspection falls due, so managers always know what is missing or expiring.
