How it works
The company writes and maintains a Written Practice, usually authored or approved by a Level III. New technicians complete documented training and experience, pass examinations administered under the Written Practice, and receive a company certificate for each method and level. The company keeps the training records, exam results, eye-test results and certificates for audit.
Where it is used
Widely in North America and in oil and gas and aerospace supply chains worldwide; many Australian and New Zealand companies run SNT-TC-1A written practices alongside ISO 9712 certificates because clients ask for one or the other.
SNT-TC-1A records in AMPS
Employer-based certification means the company itself holds every record. AMPS keeps personnel and equipment certificates on dedicated personnel and equipment pages, and its flag system warns one month before a certificate, calibration document or scheduled inspection falls due, so managers always know what is missing or expiring.
