Non-conformance report (NCR)

A non-conformance report (NCR) documents a departure from a specified requirement (a rejected weld, an out-of-calibration gauge, a missed procedure step), the decision on what to do about it, and the evidence that it was closed.

In inspection work

An NDT report that records a rejectable indication triggers an NCR on the client’s or fabricator’s side; the repair and re-inspection close it. Inside the inspection company, NCRs cover things like expired certificates found in use or reports issued without the required review.

NCRs in AMPS

Rejections, repairs and re-inspections are jobs against the same asset in AMPS, so the sequence and its documents are visible in the asset history. Every action taken in AMPS is tracked by its history feature, and each job page holds the latest version of its documents with everyone notified when a document is updated.
