- What is AMPS?
- AMPS is cloud-based job and asset management software for NDT and inspection companies, asset owners and other job-driven businesses in Australia and New Zealand. It runs jobs from creation to Xero invoice, tracks personnel and equipment certificates with a one-month expiry flag, generates reports from your own Word templates with an AI assistant, and keeps every asset’s history behind a QR code. It is built by Skinny Robot LTD in Auckland, New Zealand.
- What is NDT software?
- NDT software covers four different things: software that runs instruments and analyses scan data, integrity platforms that asset owners use to hold inspection data, business platforms that NDT contractors run their jobs, certificates, reports and invoicing on, and generic field-service tools. AMPS is in the third group: a job and asset platform for inspection companies that integrates with Xero, OneDrive or SharePoint, Google Drive and Power BI.
- Which NDT methods can I report on with AMPS?
- Any method. AMPS transforms the Word documents you already use into report templates and fills them with job data, so UT, PAUT, TOFD, RT, MPI, PT, eddy current, visual and any other method are covered by the templates you have. Technician certificates per method and equipment calibration are tracked on the personnel and equipment pages.
- Is AMPS cloud-based, and where are our documents stored?
- AMPS is a web application that runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. Documents saved through AMPS are stored in your own Microsoft OneDrive or SharePoint, or Google Drive, in a customisable folder structure with a report folder for every job, so you keep full ownership of your data and your QA folder structure keeps working. Because the files are in your storage and not on AMPS servers, you keep every report, photo and document if you ever stop using AMPS, with no export request.
- What happens to our data if we stop using AMPS or revoke access?
- Nothing is lost. Your documents, reports and photos live in your own OneDrive, SharePoint or Google Drive, so they stay there if you leave AMPS, with no export to ask for. Access runs through your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace single sign-on, SAML included: if your IT administrator revokes it, AMPS loses access to your data instantly.
- Does AMPS work offline?
- No. AMPS is a web application that runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers and needs an internet connection. There is no offline mode at present.
- Does AMPS work on phones and tablets?
- Yes. AMPS has a responsive design, so jobs, assets and documents are available anywhere, reports can be filled in on the job from a phone, tablet or computer, and scanning an asset or job QR code opens its page on a mobile device.
- How does AMPS help with certificate and calibration expiry?
- Personnel and equipment pages hold every certificate and calibration document, and the flag system notifies users one month in advance when a certificate is about to expire or an inspection is due. Managers always know which documents are missing and which equipment needs calibration.
- Is AMPS accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 or ISO/IEC 17025?
- No, and no software is: accreditation applies to your inspection body or laboratory, granted by NATA in Australia or IANZ in New Zealand. AMPS keeps the records an assessor asks for in one place: personnel and equipment certificates with expiry flags, calibration documents, a report folder for every job and a history of every action, while your approved QA folder structure stays unchanged in your own cloud storage.
- Does AMPS integrate with MYOB?
- Xero is the standard accounting integration: invoices go from AMPS to Xero and Xero items and account codes are linked to AMPS. A MYOB integration exists for Enterprise customers and is finalised on request, as part of the custom integrations included in the Enterprise plan at no extra charge. Tell us during your trial or demo if MYOB is a requirement.
- Does AMPS have a public API or a client portal?
- Not yet: there is no public API and no client portal. Your data can be exported and all of it is available to Power BI. Reports are sent to clients by email directly from the job, files live in your own OneDrive, SharePoint or Google Drive where you control sharing, and a third-party inspector can be given a temporary AMPS role with access to specific asset histories, revocable at any time.
- How does AMPS compare with OMS Software, Floodlight, AgileNDT, DRIVE NDT or InspectO?
- AMPS is a focused job and asset platform for Australia and New Zealand that keeps accounting in Xero, reports in your own Word templates and documents in your own cloud storage, with published per-user pricing and a free trial. - How long has AMPS been around?
- AMPS began as an MVP in 2021 and reached its stable 1.0 release by the end of 2022.
- Will there be more features down the road?
- Yes. Although AMPS is stable now, it’s still growing as part of our broader vision. There’s much more in store. For example, now we have an AI writing assistant for reports.
- Can I integrate other third-party apps?
- Absolutely. Contact us via in-app chat or email, and if there’s enough demand, we’ll work on adding it.
- How does AMPS handle QR code scanning?
- QR codes are built into AMPS for quotes, jobs, and documents. It’s a straightforward link you can print, and modern smartphones can instantly scan it to open the relevant page. It saves a surprising amount of time.
- What currency is AMPS priced in, and does it include GST?
- All AMPS prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and exclude GST: Starter NZ$60 and Business NZ$50 per user per month, Enterprise on quote. Every plan includes all features.
- Is there a free trial for AMPS?
- Yes. AMPS offers a limited-time free trial with access to all the features at no cost.
- How does AMPS’ pricing measure up?
- We don’t charge extra for add-ons, which often makes us more competitive compared to other solutions.
- What sets AMPS apart from other options?
